Emergency Grants

The Foundation on Aging provides grants for immediate, emergency assistance to individuals in cooperation with other non-profit agencies. We also strive to heighten awareness of the needs of seniors and the many ways we, as friends, neighbors, community members and leaders, can support those needs.

The Foundation on Aging maintains a fund to distribute emergency grants to low income seniors who need immediate assistance with medical or dental care, moving costs, emergency home repair, eyeglasses, etc.  We prefer that all individual requests be referred through existing service providers who have determined that no existing community resources are able to address this need. While requests may not always meet FOA guidelines, an effort is always made to direct inquiries to appropriate resources in the community.

In addition to managing its own emergency funds, FOA provides grants to other nonprofit providers for this same purpose. Providers are selected based on their history of serving low income clients in emergency situations.

We also work with existing agencies and community groups to provide educational opportunities that may help each of us better understand the needs and circumstances of an aging population here in Larimer County.
