Local Resources

Community agencies that provide services to seniors and who collaborate with the Foundation to foster solutions to address the needs of our seniors.

Catholic Charities Northern:

Catholic Charities is dedicated to meeting the challenges that confront families and individuals in our northeastern Colorado communities. Local services include: the Hostel of Hospitality, the Hospitality Kitchen, emergency assistance, food programs including Christmas food packages, case management, senior services and support services. The organization serves people regardless of age, faith, race or social status. Catholic Charities Northern is a division of Catholic Charities-Archdiocese of Denver.

Disabled Resource Services (DRS): www.fortnet.org/drs

As a Center for Independent Living (CIL) in Colorado, Disabled Resource Services (DRS) is a consumer controlled, community-based, cross-disability, non-residential, private non-profit agency that was designed and largely operated by individuals with disabilities to provide an array of independent living services.  DRS helps clients deal with the challenges of disability and move towards greater empowerment and independence where they have more control over their lives and the circumstances influencing them.

 

Elder Care Network of Larimer County: www.eldercarenet.org

Elder Care Network is a collaboration of family members and community professionals working to help caregivers, their families and support groups join with their elders to plan transitions, explore options, and support life choices.

 

Elderhaus: www.elderhaus.org

Providing quality affordable day programs and services to adults with special needs in a safe, pleasant environment through qualified staff and to provide relief and support to caregivers.

 

Fort Collins Meals on Wheels: www.fcmow.org

Fort Collins Meals on Wheels delivers hot, noon meals to homebound residents in greater Fort Collins, Monday-Friday.  The meals are prepared at Poudre Valley Hospital and delivered by friendly and caring volunteers.  The service is so much more than a meal with volunteers sharing conversation with the recipients while also checking on their well-being on each delivery day.  Established in 1969, this agency is proud to be one of many community services helping elders “age in place."

 

Larimer County Office on Aging:

The Larimer County Office on Aging will assist older adults, age 60 and over, in maintaining health, dignity, independence, and quality of life, by advocating, planning, coordinating, and delivering services and programs. The emphasis is upon meeting the needs of those who are socially and/or economically disadvantaged.

 

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud

Established in 1968, Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud, Inc. became the first home delivered meal service program west of the Mississippi River. Meals on Wheels provides a home delivered noon time meal Monday through Friday including a well-being safety check. Additional frozen meals are offered for evenings and weekends. The volunteer drivers take time during meal delivery to check on each person they serve to determine clients’ well being and safety. Clients may contribute for their meals. If so, a suggested sliding scale fee is used,  based on the clients’ monthly net income.

 

Rehabilitation and Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA): www.rvna.info

Rehabilitation and Visiting Nurse Association is a non-profit, community based home health agency, committed through individual assessment to provide high quality health care services to people of all ages to promote an individual's full potential and to enhance independent living.

SAINT Volunteer Transportation: www.saintvolunteertransportation.org

SAINT Volunteer Transportation (also known as Senior Alternatives IN Transportation) is a local non-profit agency providing personal transportation to people 60 years old and older, and people with disabilities that prevent them from driving.

Volunteers of America (Colorado Branch): www.voacolorado.org

Volunteers of America Colorado Branch seeks to identify and serve the basic needs of the most vulnerable individuals and families in the community. The statewide organization operates 32 different programs.  The Northern Colorado Services Division, serving Larimer County, focuses services on assisting the elderly in remaining in their homes as long as possible. Services include: respite for family caregivers, home delivered meals for the homebound, noontime meals at 12 dining centers, home safety repairs, grocery shopping, and volunteer opportunities.

The Women's Resource Center believes that all women should have the opportunity to thrive and be healthy. Healthy women have a ripple effect on healthy families and healthy communities. We strive to help build the foundation for a better tomorrow without losing sight of those who need.  FOA provides funding to support emergency needs of their senior clients.
