Endorsements

Community members have endorsed the Summit and it's mission to bring a broad cross section of stakeholders together to learn and share ideas about how we can create more livable communities that accommodate and benefit from future demographic shifts in our county's population.

“There is so much we can be doing to ensure that Fort Collins continues to be a great place to live for people of all ages. The Larimer County Summit on Aging is a great place to start, with national speakers, local experts and lots of opportunities for brainstorming new ideas. As a business owner, longtime resident and baby boomer myself, I encourage you to sign up and participate. This event is for us.” –Dennis Houska, owner of Houska Automotive Services.    Read entire Soapbox.

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to aging in northern Colorado.   Having a community that is built around making people feel safe, engaged in their neighborhoods and organizations, that allow opportunities to stay active physically, mentally and emotionally……. this is what I feel Larimer County offers us.   But it does take planning – on a personal level and on a broader community-wide level.   I’m so looking forward to the Summit on Aging on May 7 to be inspired, to learn, and to gain insight into how our community can continue on this path.  Remember, when you plan for an age-friendly community, you are planning for all ages.         Jill Taylor – UCHealth Senior Services / Aspen Club
